A Graveside Service will be held to celebrate the life of Lola C. Kesner at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Park with Pastor Tommy Patton officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the stateroom of Hill Crest.
Lola was born on October 1, 1933 in Grand Cane to Ruby Lee and Bunnie (Petty) Cherene. She attended Florien High School and played basketball for the Blackcats. Lola was the loving wife of Harold Lee Kesner (USAF, Ret). They married in April 1954 and welcomed a daughter together, Debbie. In 1973, her and her husband retired to Haughton LA, both becoming long time members of Belle Park Baptist Church. She was a talented stylist and was always helping friends and family with their hair as a hobby. She decided to obtain her license in cosmetology and opened a little beauty shop on Hwy 80, Lola’s Cut N’ Curl. Lola enjoyed bowling and making ceramics, playing the guitar and singing along with her family. She had the greatest sense of humor and was at the center of every gathering; entertaining with jokes and conversation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kesner, parents; sisters, Zella Davis and Jane Austin and brother, Joe Lee Chreene.
Lola is survived by her daughter, Debbie Dyson and husband Larry; granddaughter, Sarah Dyson Hemperley and husband Nathan; great grandson, Liam Harold Hemperley; sister, Sybil Lewandowski and husband Irion Lafargue; brother, J.D. Cherene and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of STAT Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice for their kindness and care.
