Funeral Services celebrating the life of Leroy Faith, 89, of Bossier City, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Rd, Benton Louisiana, with Justin Haigler, Ray Raney and Tom Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Haughton, Louisiana, with Sonny DePrang officiating. A visitation will be held at Cypress Baptist Church, May 22, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Leroy was born on November 2, 1933 in Minden, Louisiana to Edd Newman and Ethel Rivers Faith and entered into rest on May 20, 2023 at his residence.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife of fifty years and mother of his children, Ethel Kirkham Faith, brothers, George and Edd Newman, Jr, and his sisters, Anne (Garvin), Sarah (Marshall), Pearlie (Bert) and Elzie (Dan); and brother-in-law Roy Lee Kirkham.
Leroy enlisted in the Navy in September of 1952 where he learned electronics. This knowledge helped him throughout his service and helped him to establish his career. In 1960 with Benny Culbertson, he started Shreveport Communications ultimately becoming the sole owner. Over the next sixty years, Shreveport Communications has been integral in the communications for agencies throughout North Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas. Leroy, a man of God, loved his family and his church.
Leroy’s love for service, goodness and kindness allowed him to serve and give to the church and many charities. Wherever help was needed, he was willing to do what he could. Leroy was part of a weekly prayer and bible study group that included Dan Sharp, Art Walker, Clay Crenshaw and Sonny DePrang.
Left to cherish his memory are his second wife of sixteen years, Carolyn Guest Faith; sons, Eddie Ray Faith (Elizabeth), Leroy Faith Jr (Rhonda) and Donnie Faith (Vicki); stepdaughter, Debbie Guest Cochran (Perry), and stepson, Greg Guest (Melinda); grandchildren, Nick Faith (Lindsey), Amanda Faith, Joe Faith (Hannah), and Ashley Faith Calloway (Christian); step grandchildren, Josh Guest (Tiffany), Paxson Guest (Lakyn), Parker Guest, Jacob Guest (Courtney) and Brandon Cochran; great grandchildren, Austin Payne, Pierce Faith, and Marylou Callaway; step grandchildren, Brody Guest, Brooks Guest and Briggs Guest; sister-in-law, Shirley Kirkham and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Leroy as pallbearers will be Nick Faith, Joe Faith, Christian Callaway, Steve Robinson, Dan Sharp and Clay Crenshaw. Honorary pallbearers and special friends will be Dr. Fred Lowery, Bill Crow, Bill Ledbetter, Ron Worley, and Art Walker.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the love and care given to Leroy for the past several weeks from his sitters, especially Marcus, Jeremy, Delores, and Taika.
Memorials may be made to one of his favorite charities: Amigo Fiel, FCA, the Mayor Prayer Breakfast Committee or to the organization of your choice.
