Bossier City, LA- Lee Platt passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born September 29, 1946 in Rutland, VT, the son of Lee and Irene Platt.
Lee was a 1962 graduate of Windsor High School in Windsor, VT. He proudly served his country in the US Army, in the Signal Corp for 22 years before retiring in 1989. During which he served two tours in Vietnam, and many years in Germany.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Sandra Lee Dorey Platt . He is survived by daughter, Laurie Carlton Getchell of Manchester, CT; two sons, Jeff Carlton of East Hartford, CT, Bill and wife Terrie Platt of Bossier City, LA; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Mitch. He is also survived by 5 siblings - Donald Platt of CT, Martha Platt of VT, Lynne Garrison of NH, Roderick Parker of FL, and Thea King of WI, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a private Memorial Service for Lee on Monday, June 20, 2011at 7:00PM at the Jubilee Tabernacle of The Full Gospel Interdenominational Church, 16 Brainard Place, Manchester, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
