John "J.T." Towery

A memorial service celebrating the life of John "JT" Towery will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to service.

John was born in Wichita Falls, TX on November 2, 1967 and passed away on February 20, 2020. He worked as the Photo Finisher at LA Downs. He was a retired jockey in the horse racing industry, a master flooring mechanic, incredible cook, and a jack-of-all-trades. John was also a member of The American Pool Players Association. He was a wonderful father, son, and a great friend to so many people.

He is preceded in death by his father, James R. Towery. John is survived by his daughter, Kristina Towery; grand dog, Tako Bella; mother, Lola Culwell; sisters, Brandi Phillips, Kellie Miller and Regena Rousey; brothers, Sean Nix, Ronnie Privitt, and Chris Towery, along with many nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his fiancée, Morgan Ayon and her son, Seth.

Our family would like to thank the EMS team, the amazing angels at Willis Knighton Bossier, Jen and his racing family. Also, thank you to his Reflections family for all the love and support over the many years - it never went unnoticed. A special thanks to my mom, Teresa Towery, for all of your never-ending love and support and to JT's best friend, Sean, just - Thank You.
