Funeral services for Jessie Faye Thompson, 84, of Haughton, LA, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for friends will be Friday evening, October 15, 2021 from 5 to 7 pm.
Faye passed away Monday October 11, 2021 at Willis-Knighton Bossier Health Center.
She was born in Gideon, Missouri on November 14, 1936 and graduated from Gideon High School in 1956. She was married to Willie E. Thompson on March 2, 1959 who preceded her in death July 13, 2010. They were married for 51 years.
Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for many years at the First Baptist daycare in Bossier City. She worked at the Northwest State School in Bossier City, LA, retiring after 10 years. Later in life she served faithfully as her husband’s co-pilot while they crisscrossed the highways of America in his big eighteen wheeler.
She was a member of Belle Park Baptist Church and resident of Haughton since 1970. She loved water aerobics and chair aerobics at Willis Knighton. She had a passion for her family, friends, and her faith. Spending time with her family was one of her favorite things. She was actively involved in her church and loved her church family. She loved traveling and being outdoors. She loved to have her toes in the sand every chance she could get. Any beach would do.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Leach, and her husband David of Haughton, LA; her sons Dr. Buddy Thompson and his wife Susan of Lucas, TX; and son Tommie Thompson and his wife Carly of Haughton, LA. She was also the proud grandmother of Michael Leach and wife Liz, Justin Leach and wife Karla, Morgan Taylor and her husband Sean, Meagan and Michaela Thompson, and Cade Thompson. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Russell, Emma, and Annemarie Leach. She is also survived by her little dog, Chase, a true and faithful companion.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Thompson, her parents, Ellen and Kim Walton, her brothers Buddy and Jerry Walton, and her sister, Helen Berg.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Justin Leach, Cade Thompson, Sean Taylor, Luke Klopchic, and Tim Wood.
