HAUGHTON, LA – Services for Jamie Hendrix Westerman will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Mr. Richard Gasser officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Jamie was born in Shreveport, LA on June 28, 1956 to W.E. Dub and Kay Hendrix. She was a graduate of Airline High School and Northwestern State College. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Along with her love of NICU nursing, she had a love for traveling. She never met a stranger and always had a smile and a hug waiting for you. Those who knew Jamie came to know what a carefree spirit and kind heart she had. She is the kind of person that would always be there for you. These same qualities she brought to her work and they gave her the ability to be an exceptional neonatal nurse. She would do everything for her patients and their families, and often went above and beyond without even thinking twice. Those who knew Jamie will agree that the world is a lesser place without her, but are also relieved that her suffering is over and her reward is at hand.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Westerman, brother Tracy Hendrix, grandparents Derwood and Bernice Davis, Russell M. and Myrtle Hendrix and mother in law Betty Bowen Westerman.
Jamie is survived by her parents W.E. Dub and Kay Hendrix, her son Jason Westerman, her daughter Nicole Schraw and husband Kendall, grandchildren Elizabeth Westerman, and Cameron, Caroline, Coleman, and Connor Schraw, brother Marty Hendrix and wife Mary Jane, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Dooley, Mike Denton, Harvey Bryant, Cecil Oliver, Scott Tyler and Jay Valery.
We Miss You.
