Funeral services for James N. Bonnette,77, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Thomas McRae officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park, with military honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home.
James passed away December 14, 2010 in Shreveport. He was born May 26, 1933 in Long Leaf, LA; to Martin and Gladys Bonnette, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and he owned and operated Barksdale Auto Sales for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Gladys Bonnette and a brother, Charles Bonnette.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Vera Stewart Bonnette; two daughters Patti Ohlmeyer and husband Butch and Jamie Cutts; two sons, Michael T. Bonnette and wife Jan; and Russell M. Bonnette; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one great grandchild, four sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.
Palbearers will be Dwain Stewart, Steve McRae, Ricky McRae, Clint Ashworth, Larry Lee, and Alfred Cloud.
