Inez Gamble Wimberly

Our mother, Inez Gamble Wimberly, at the age of 101 passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022. She had been a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living for 14 years. She received her BA in education from Northwestern State University. She married Duvall Cortez Wimberly on September 11, 1943 and they were married for 63 glorious years. Inez was a wonderful mother to three children; Sandra, D.C., and Bess. She was a wonderful grandmother to her seven grandchildren; Kim Everett, Robbie Bland, April Poore, Angela Simpson, Elizabeth Mullis, Michael O'Malley, and Patrick O'Malley.

Inez was blessed to have three wonderful women that sat and provided for her daily, Ira, JoAnn and Patty who loved her and she cherished them to the end. A special thanks also goes out to Kay Cleaver, who stepped in towards the end and filled in as needed. Inez was so proud to have dedicated doctors throughout her life, including Dr. Khanna who cared for her medical needs with love and kindness. A big thank you to Dr. Davis who was instrumental in her care at the end. We would like to thank Brookdale and staff for years of service for both our mother and family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the community and many friends that were made over the years.

Left to cherish Inez's memory are her daughters, Sandra Wimberly Wren (Richard) and Bess Wimberly O'Malley (Mickey); son D.C. Wimberly; grandchildren Kimberly Everett (Tommy), Robbie Bland, Elizabeth Mullis, Michael O'Malley, Patrick O'Malley, April Poore and Angela Simpson; great-grandchildren Luke Everett (Emily), Bailey Rogers (Buck), Kelli Everett, Chloe Bland, Balend Bland, Abel Bland and Vivian Mullis; step grandchildren Keeth Wren, Kyle Wren (Mary), Melissa Frazier and Jenny Beatty; and great-great grandchildren Lizzy and Rett.

Services for Inez Gamble Wimberly will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Wimberly Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Wimberly Cemetery Memorial Chapel in Ringgold, Louisiana.
