Funeral services for Houston Dean Hatcher will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 27, 2012 at Northwoods Baptist Church with Pastor Brent Shoalmire officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, April 26, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Houston was born May 23, 1988 in Shreveport, LA to parents Paula Denise (Davies) and Russell Joe Hatcher and passed away at home Tuesday, April 24, 2012.Houston was a graduate of Waskom High School, attended Northwestern State University where he was a member of sigma nu fraternity. Houston was also a member of Caddo Parish Fire District Number 1. Houston was a blessed and beloved son, friend, and brother, a hero, an inspiration to many. Houston was an avid sportsman, a huge LSU and SAINTS fan as well as an avid outdoorsman including camping, hunting, and fishing and numerous other outdoor activities. The family would like to extend a special thanks to ST. JUDE Childrens Hospital and Christus Schumpert Hospice for all their love and care over the years.
Houston was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandfathers, Joe Hatcher and George Davies. He is survived by his father, Russell Hatcher and wife Shelley of Blanchard, and mother Paula Bodden and husband Stewart of Bossier City. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Joyce Hatcher of Minden, maternal grandmother, Mary Ray and husband Carl of Prescott, AR, brother, Ruben Hatcher and step-sister, Heather Tullis, both of Blanchard, step-grandparents, Fran and Richard Bohnert of Blanchard, and Dave and Dorothy Bodden of Haughton. He is also survived numerous other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friend Kimberly Trainor.
