Glenda Rae Turns, 76, of Bossier City passed away on Thursday April 6th, 2023. Glenda was born March 9, 1947 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Della and Theodore Dodd. She was the eldest of four brothers and one sister.
Glenda graduated from Easton High School in Easton, Kansas in 1965. Thereafter she started a career in office automation information management at Ft. Leavenworth, then onto Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and finally Ft. Carson near Colorado Springs, Colorado where she retired. Glenda enjoyed her retirement with bowling and fishing excursions. She lived in Colorado Springs for thirty years before moving to the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where she became the resident expert on crappie fishing right off of her dock at the lake. After six years at the lake she had a yearning to be close to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, so she picked up and moved south. She loved the warm weather and always looked forward to Mudbug Madness each year. Glenda’s best days were filled with music and dancing, family, and she especially loved fishing and laughing with her sister. She never knew a stranger, and could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere she went. She was a proud member of Bellaire Baptist Church.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Rudy Dodd and Roger Dodd.
Left to cherish Glenda’s beautiful memories are her beloved husband of forty years; Charles Turns, one sister; Sandra Eidemiller and husband Don, two brothers: Dwain Dodd, Steven Dodd, one daughter; Heather Thomas, five grandchildren: Kyle Christie, Zach Christie, Ashley O’Donnell, Brittany O’Donnell, Lillie Duran, three great-grandchildren; Jaxon Christie, Levi Christie, Jessi Christie, an abundance of cousins, nieces, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
