George was born on January 17, 1932 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on April 28, 2019 in Bossier City, LA. After high school, he joined the Air Force and served as an air traffic controller. By retirement, he had reached the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a great storyteller and jokester. George was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church and devoted 20 years to the church food pantry. On the weekends, he could be found at his fishing camp on Lake Bistineau. He loved working in his garden at home. His friends and family looked forward to his tomatoes and cucumbers each year. Anytime he spent fishing or hunting was time spent with his son Miles. George loved his grandchildren and would always tell people how proud he was of everyone. When the family went out to eat, he loved to tell people that there were three generations present. His favorite things to eat were crawfish, crab legs and oysters on the half shell with a cold beer in a frosted glass.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Mary Gordano; son, Thorn Guy Gordano; two brothers; one sister and parents.
George is survived by children, Nanette, Miles, Gavin and Tina; grandchildren, Matthew, Brandi, Jeremy, Morgan, Fields, Garrett and McKenzi and several great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Promise Hospital in Bossier, Christ the King Catholic Church and Robert Gatti.
