Geoffrey John Ward, age 60, of Haughton, Louisiana went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 16, 2024. Geoff was born August 4,1964, in Omaha, Nebraska to Alton William and Margaret Dinneen (Easterbrook) Ward. Geoff was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Karen Ward; son, Ryan Ward and his wife Taylor; daughter, Emily Ward; and brother, Kevin Ward.
After graduating from Haughton High School in 1982, Geoff went on to study at Louisiana Tech until he decided to follow his dream to pursue a career in music. He was a phenomenal drummer and performed in several bands including his 1980's hair band, "Nobody's Children", which toured the US from 1989-1991. He also drummed for Percy Sledge and the Aces Band, Ambush, Victims of Pop Culture, and various other bands throughout his career. In his later years, Geoff worked as a sales manager for Ark-La-Tex Shop Builders. Music was a passion of Geoff's, but above and beyond his love for music was his love for his family. He was often heard saying how proud he was of his children and that "God knew what he was doing" when he and his wife met.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks for the many prayers, love, and support received during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff at Willis Knighton North for their compassionate and loving care Geoff received during his stay.
A memorial service for Geoff will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 with Pastor Craig Johnson, of Northpoint Community Church, officiating at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geoff's memory to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (www.myotonic.org) to further research for a cure.
