Colton was born May 2, 2003 in Bossier City, Louisiana to Michael and Deidra Stacy. Colton grew up in a family dedicated to the Lord and surrounded by family and friends. Colton attended preschool through high school in the Haughton school district where he competed on the robotics team. Colton also shot archery from elementary through high school and placed second in state at the Louisiana State Archery competition in Alexandria, LA as well as qualifying for the National Archery competition in Lexington, KY many times and won many awards throughout the years for archery at the state and national level. Colton graduated from Haughton High School in 2021. Colton was a member of the National Honor Society, BSTIL Student of the Year Carpentry Top Performer, and served over 200 hours of community service. He was a member of the JROTC program for four years where he attained the rank of Colonel and became the Corp Commander his senior year. Colton loved his JROTC family and retained those friends beyond high school into college. Colton received the LT COL John Collier Leadership Excellence Scholarship from the Military Officers Association of America, Ark-La-Tex Chapter. Colton then attended Louisiana Tech University, where he was a sophomore, majoring in engineering.
Colton was a creative and talented carpenter, craftsman, tailor, gunsmith and knife maker. He was happiest when milling boards and working with wood to create beautiful pieces. Colton loved to hunt and fish with his family and spent a great deal of time in the outdoors. He was an old soul who loved the ‘old ways’ of doing everything by hand. He loved to watch Andy Griffith and Father Knows Best and many other shows from a time long gone. He loved to participate in Civil War reenactments and served in the Louisiana 71st Civil War Regiment where he ensured items used were authentic to the time period. He loved to help others and spent his last day helping a close friend and his parents.
He was cherished by his parents, his sister, and his grandparents, as well as his extended family and friends. He was an amazing young man who was destined for greatness. Most importantly, Colton loved the Lord and went to join the Lord to be healed. He knew he would suffer no more physical pain, that God would take that pain away. But God had another plan for his life. We do not know why he was stricken with the headache that was unceasing and eventually destroyed him. But we do believe everything happens for a reason and that his life will not be in vain. Let Colton be a beacon of light, a path for others and a witness to the love of Christ.
