Bobbie Jean Posey (born Bobbie Jean Young to Edith and Thomas J Young of DeRidder, Louisiana) was born on August 19th, 1933, in Norphlet, Arkansas. She lived a full ninety years and found peace knowing her time on this Earth was complete. Bobbie passed peacefully in her home surrounded by love and family on December 26th, 2023.
She grew up with two sisters, Elsie Joyce, and Tommie Lou, and after plenty of adventures and travel, she settled in Louisiana again to raise her two daughters, Terry Jo, and Rosezann.
Bobbie was a hard-working mother wholeheartedly dedicated to her family (and anyone needing a family for Thanksgiving). She never thought of herself first, always considerate of everyone's needs before her needs or desires.
She retired from AT&T and spent her retirement volunteering for her church, The Pentecostals of Bossier City (POBC), and the community. Many at POBC called her their Sister Bobbie or "Our Spiritual Mother." She spent countless nights leading worship and bible study at the local prisons. Dedicated to Jesus Christ and her heartfelt love to share scriptures, she spent hours making her prayer lists and many more praying for everyone she met. Anyone who needed Jesus's warmth could feel His hand and love when they met Sister Bobbie. Sister Bobbie radiated Jesus's love when she entered any room; everyone gravitated to her.
Our beloved Momma, Sister, MawMaw, Aunt Bobbie, Sister Bobbie, Spiritual Mother or Spiritual Advisor, took anyone under her wing and considered everyone she met family; however, biologically, she is survived by her sister Tommie Lou Harville, her daughters Terry Jo Scott, and Rosezann Etherington and husband Robert Etherington, grandsons Aaron Michael Grimsley, Lee Rowland, and Edwin Deacon Etherington and wife Wyn Etherington, granddaughters Rachel Grimsley Murray and husband Rusty Michael Murray, Kristin Rowland Coulter, Rebecca Grimsley Isbell, Tanya Scott Bennett, and husband Tyler Bennett, Michelle Scott Jeardoe and husband Shawn Jeardoe, and Teddy Jean Etherington, as well as eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Bobbie as pallbearers will be Daryl Harville, Aaron Grimsley, Rusty Murray, Lee Rowland, Chase Grimsley, and Edwin Etherington. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Robert Etherington, John Coulter, Dalton Harville, James Harville, Jordan Isbell, Tommy Hollis
"To everything, there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted." -Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
May she rest with the same grace she extended to everyone she loved.
