Billy B. Owens

Bill was a long time resident of Shreveport having moved there after a career with the United States Air Force. Bill retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service in several stateside and overseas locations. His career as a K-9 handler culminated in his assignment as Security Police Superintendent and Kennel Master of the USAF Pacific Forces largest military working dog facility at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. After his Air Force retirement Bill entered his second career as manager of K-Mart automotive completing yet a second successful career. Bill was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bill spent his retirement years tending to his garden and pursuing his passion for cooking and fishing.

He is survived by his children, James and Susan Owens, Joan and Tony Davidson, Diana Owens, and Mark and Jennifer Owens; 7 grandchildren, Christina and Cecil Hyder, Brian and Patti Owens, Jessica and Paul Tafoya, Daniel and Abby Owens, Mark and Cara Owens, Paul Owens, and Kaleb Owens; and 13 great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Savannah Owens, Cale and Corynn Hyder, Kayden, Madison, Kamryn and Hunter Tafoya, Emily and Wyatt Owens; and Caitlin, Carter, and Eveleigh Owens. He was a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by all.
