PLAIN DEALING, LA – Services celebrating the life of Billy McCoy Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Earhart officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., prior the service.
Billy was born in Simms, TX on March 11, 1937 to Walter and Lula Lawrence. He joined the U.S. Army and National Guard and served his country for over a total of ten years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for American Linen as a sales representative and worked for Sheriff Larry Deen at the Bossier Sheriff’s Department work release program.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Hammons Lawrence; his daughter, Karen Renee Lawrence; and numerous niece and nephews.
Honoring Billy as pallbearers will be Gawain May, Kevin May, Paul Hammons, Terry Prince, Ronald Prince, and Ronnie Lawrence. Plain Dealing Chief of Police, Ronnie Murray, will serve as honorary pallbearer.
