Virgil Dunn

A proud native of Harlan County, KY, Virgil was a loving husband to his wife Patty who was by his side for over 21 years of marriage, and his faithful four-legged companion Homer. He was also a proud step-father to Chris Hamblin and his husband Timothy Wilcots.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his mother and father Hubert and Dorlene Dunn, sister-in-law Genia Dunn, Aunt Ailene Powell grandparents The Dunns and The Wilsons, mother and father-in-law James and Hazel Gilbert and brother-in-law Mark Gilbert. He is survived by his brothers J.E. Dunn and Rick (Jenny) Dunn, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and neighbors, with special recognition of Mary Jo Brooks and Shirley Wilder. Pallbearers will include special family and friends, whom the family wishes to thank.

Viewing and reception of friends will be held at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, TN on Wednesday July 31st at from 5 to 7 PM with celebration of life to follow immediately, and graveside services to occur Thursday August 1st at Riverview Cemetery at 12 noon. The family requests that attendants wear KY blue or TN orange out of respect for Virgil and his passion for University of Kentucky sports.
