Edna Lee Kyger Mowbray, 82, of McGaheysville passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab. Center.
She was born on August 3, 1939 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late David G. and Edna V. Shifflett Kyger.
Edna devoted her life to being a homemaker and caregiver and was a member of the Ray of Hope Church for more than 20 years.
On October 26, 1957, she married Herbert Lee Mowbray who preceded her in death on November 30, 1999.
She is survived by sisters, Hilda Mae Lam of Harrisonburg, Ruth Alice Shifflett of Elkton, a special niece, Jessica Kyger of Roanoke, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis Wilford Kyger, Oliver Kyger, Arnold F. Kyger and Chris Kyger; sisters, Odessa Harlow, Lethia Kyger and Lula Evelyn Kyger.
A funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab Center for the care she received while she was there.
