Michael Anthony Peters, 60, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at Emerald Rehab and Healthcare in Elizabethtown. Born November 20, 1961, in Chambersburg; he was the son of the late James B. and Zita M. (Buhrman) Peters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian J. Peters. Surviving is his brother, Kevin B. Peters (Margaret), of Mechanicsburg; his sister, Mary Ellen Bennett (Jeffrey), of Chambersburg; and 5 nieces and nephews. Michael was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, class of 1980. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Persian Gulf War. Michael worked as a Vehicle Title Processor for PennDOT. Michael enjoyed photography, especially pictures of flowers and old-fashioned covered bridges. He supported veterans causes and had a true heart for veterans. A viewing will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2022, in Neill Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at 9:30 AM, Monday, August 1, 2020, with Navy military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.
