Peggy was a very strong woman up to the end, as she always has been. In her life, she helped many people with her computer teaching, book clubs and other activities. Peggy was a registered nurse and LPN instructor in Illinois and at Mifflin-Juniata Career and Technology Center, Lewistown. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chatham College and Allegheny General, Pittsburgh. She was also the author to many nursing education books.
She is survived by: her daughter, Tracey Nolen, of Harrisburg; son, Jeffrey Marks, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Chelsea Nolen, of Harrisburg, Edward Nolen, of Mt. Carmel, Shane Marks and Jeffrey Marks; and many great-grandchildren.
She was surrounded by loved ones during her last few months while living with her family in Harrisburg and with the help of Celtic Hospice.
Peggy was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Association of University Women and Mifflin County School Retirees. She was also a Girl Scout parent and co-leader of a troop, and she held various church office positions.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 203 E. Third St., Lewistown. There will be a meal after the service at the church for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tri-County OIC or Andrew’s Gift.
