Louise was born on October 20, 1927 in Pembroke, NC, the daughter of the late Pearlie (Revels) Lowry. She moved to Pennsylvania in the late 1940s, where she attended Thompson Institute and met her husband, Leslie Stewart, who preceded her in death. No grass ever grew beneath Louise's feet; she loved to work, travel and spend time with her family and many friends – with whom she was always willing to share her home.
Louise was employed for many years as an administrative assistant with the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, retiring in 1995. Even in retirement, Louise never slowed down – working part time at Hoover Rehabilitation Services, Inc., until 2008.
Louise is survived by one son, Benjamin Stewart, wife Susan, of Ickesburg; three daughters, Jacalyn Lahr, husband Joseph, of Harrisburg, PA; Sherry Stewart of Cleveland, TN; and Cassandra Amour, husband Dennis, of Halifax, PA; six grandsons, Benjamin Stewart, DO, wife Angie; Wade Stewart, wife Amy; Captain Alex Stewart, wife Chery; Shawn Funk, wife Holly; Brian Funk, wife Anne Marie; and Anson Amour. Louise was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren.
Louise was an active member of the Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, ABWA, Harrisburg Elks Lodge #12, and the Lawnton American Legion Post 998 Ladies Auxiliary.
