Kenneth W. Rider

Kenneth W. Rider, age 95, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Camp Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 28, 1929, in Mechanicsburg, PA, son of Paul Rider and Mary (Westfall) Rider.

As a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, he was a varsity football player and was named All-Conference Running Back. As a sports enthusiast, he attended all of his children's sporting events. He worked for Erie Insurance for 30 years, retiring at the age of 62 as a Major Claims Supervisor. He and Martha loved to travel. Their adventures took them to Europe, South America, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. Their favorite place away from home was Marco Island, FL.

Surviving are daughter Susan R. Pitcher, Marathon, FL; sons Kenneth S Rider (Debora Levin), Mechanicsburg, PA and Michael L Rider (Pam Terry), Westminster, CO; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Martha (Kauffman) Rider; a grandson, Kenny Rider, and 8 siblings.

There will be a visitation at Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will be at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
