Jean “Jeannie” Marjorie Barrett (née Todd), 64, of Lower Paxton Township, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on March 9, 1958 in Harrisburg, daughter of the late William and Sara (née Brennan) Todd. Jeannie was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, class of 1976, and was a retiree of United Concordia, where she worked her entire career.
She is survived by husband Warren J. Barrett, daughter Jennifer S. Fitzpatrick of Richmond, VA, brother William Todd (Christine) of Harrisburg, sister Karen Hollenbush (Richard) of Hershey, three stepdaughters: Jamie Barrett-Fetters (Jeff) of Lewistown, Tara Kolojejchick of New Cumberland, and Cassie Waterman (Adam) of Mechanicsburg and two step-grandsons.
Jeannie was an avid reader and gardener who loved summers by the pool, adventures in Long Beach Island, NJ, spending time with family and friends, and being a mom to her daughter and rescued pets. Jeannie loved to laugh and gave the best hugs, according to her lifelong friend, Susan “Sue” Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jeannie’s name to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA.
