Debra Homan McGovern, passed away January 8, 2017, in her home in Harrisburg, PA. Debra was born March 13, 1955, in Kane, PA; the daughter of Stanley and Imogene (Williams) Homan. She was a graduate of Kane High School, Villa Maria College and the Dickinson School of Law. On September 8, 1990, she married Michael McGovern. She worked for many years for the Dauphin County Court System and then as Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
She enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting and was an avid Penn State Football fan.
Debra is survived by her husband, Michael; sisters, Delores Dehamer and husband Ken, of Wayland, Michigan, Nancy Homan of Preston Lanes, England, and Linda Lane of Wilmington, Delaware; brother, Ronald Homan of Tampa, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews; and mother-in-law, Patricia McGovern, of Towanda, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Carl Homan, and her father-in-law, Thomas McGovern.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2017, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be Saturday in the Catholic Cemetery in Towanda, Pennsylvania. A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
