Arlene “Pat” Howe, 86, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022 with her sons by her side at Holy Spirit Hospital. As her family’s loving, steadfast matriarch, Pat remained a beacon of light, strength and kindness as she entered Heaven’s gates, reuniting with those who awaited her.
A proud Harrisburg native, Pat’s love for nature led her to spend her summers camping with her beloved husband, where she found a great community and dear friends. In her later years, she filled her days hard at work on puzzles and taking in the wildlife just outside her door. Above all else, Pat enjoyed spending time with those she held closest to her heart—her family.
Pat is preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret and Arthur Kitzmiller, husband, Kenneth Howe Sr and siblings, James, Lillian “Bebe” and Clarence “Skip”. She is survived by her sister, Margaret “Peg” Porko, three sons, Kenneth Howe Jr, Stephen “Dusty” Howe Sr (Gail) and Dennis Howe (Chris) as well as her five grandchildren, Brandi (Andy), Dennis Jr (Marie Elena), Meghan (Matthew), Stephen Jr and Cody (Lydia) as well as her eight great-grandchildren.
A viewing at 10:00 AM Monday, September 26, 2022 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg and she will be laid to rest alongside her husband at 12:00 p.m. at Shoop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
