Michelle "Mickey" Kaye Cope Cardoso

Michelle was born in Coronado Island, California on February 7, 1956 to Wilmer and Eileen Cope. Her family moved to Hanford when she was a teenager and Michelle attended Woodrow Wilson Middle School and graduated from Hanford High School in 1974. On August 22, 1981 she married the love of her life, Joseph Michael Cardoso in Morro Bay, California. They made their home in Hanford at the Cardoso Dairy of Hanford. She was an Optical Technician for Family Eye Care for over 20 years. Michelle’s best friend was her husband, Joe and they enjoyed traveling to the coast and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed times spent with her children, grandchildren and friends. Michelle enjoyed reading, movies, theater and entertainment programs. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eileen Cope on January 31, 2010.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband, Joe of Hanford; her loving father, Wilmer Cope of Hanford; loving son Kellen Cardoso of Hanford; and loving daughter Ryanne Cooley and husband, Les of San Antonio, TX; loving brothers, Mike Cope and wife, Chris and their children Sara, Rebecca and Daniel of Edmonds, WA and Forrest Cope and son Jordan of Hanford, CA; four very special grandchildren, Wyatt, Mason, Kaylee Jo and Anna Michelle; and many friends.

Visitation will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street in Hanford on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 4 – 8 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel of Hanford with interment following at Calvary Cemetery of Hanford.
