Lawrence was the 2nd of 4 children. Lawrence was married to his wife Lois Johnson for 36 years. Lawrence is the father to Lawrence C. Johnson the 3rd and Richard Palmer Johnson, married to Morgan. He is the grandfather to Sophie Johnson. He is the stepfather to Thomas Sims, married to Tonya, Kathy Forbes, married to Cornelius, Terrence Sims married Janey and Troy Sims.
He was a cook in the Navy for 24 years. Lawrence was also a cook for the Sheriff’s department of Bakersfield, Ca. as well as the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations.
Lawrence was an exceptional athlete. He was a great baseball player. Lawrence loved fishing, western movies and music. His choice of music was Soul and Jazz.
Lawrence was preceded in death by both parents. Both brother's, Bonney Jean and Benney Joe, his sister Antonia Walker, and his Son Lawrence Johnson the 3rd. Lawrence accepted Jesus as his personal savior and in the black churches of Kings County he is known as Deacon Johnson.
Lawrence's storm of suffering is now over. He is survived by his Wife, children and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
