Larry Harrison Rowe, 78, long time local educator has passed away. Rowe started his career in Tranquility. After teaching history and coaching baseball, he worked at Cabrillo High School in Lompoc. With a master's degree in school administration, he worked at Lemoore High School and instigated an adult program at LNAS. He enjoyed going to Corcoran High where he was a graduate and served there as principal until he left to work as principal at Laton High School, a favorite assignment.
He was able to retire and spend time with his grandchildren, attend and enter classic car shows and travel with his wife, Linda. He and Linda were able to visit many countries before his final administration position at San Leandro High.
Larry and his family hosted exchange students over the years. Rowe "adopted" them as his own. He enjoyed showing them around California and staying connected to them.
Rowe enjoyed studying the Bible and participating in Bible studies where he was an active member at the Church of Christ.
Larry's true passion was baseball. He enjoyed coaching and sharing his baseball knowledge through coaching his sons and grandsons over the years. He never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge, cheer a team on, or record stats for a baseball game.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Spafford Rowe. Larry is also survived by three children. Geoffery Rowe (Colleen), Kourtney Presswood (Justin), and Jacob Rowe. He leaves behind five grandchildren, Carter Presswood, Brayden Presswood, Keegan Rowe, Owen Rowe, and Emery Rowe.
He is preceded by his sister, Mary Puckett and brother, Kenneth Rowe.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am May 4th at Sunflower Cemetery in Lemoore. Memorial Service and reception at 11:30 am May 4th at Hanford Church of Christ. Please join us in celebrating Larry's life.
