

Joe “Mando” De La Cruz, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025 at the age of 95. Born in San Jose, California to Marciano and Victoria De La Cruz. Joe lived a long and full life marked by service, ambition and a deep love for his family. He served proudly in the United States Army. He dedicated his life to building businesses and opportunities for himself and others. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit and natural charm. Joe was a true people person, he made everyone feel like family and never forgot a name or a story. He is survived by his sister Inez ”Babe” (Paul) Banegas and sister- in- law Gloria De La Cruz. He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers Mike and Henry “Nick” De La Cruz, sister Mary “Honey” (Johnnie) “Dodo” Banegas.
Joe was the proud father of 6 children: Armand, Pamela, Kirk, Troy, Yvette (Richard) and Victoria, stepchildren Caine and Elizabeth. His legacy lives on in his 24 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews who will all cherish his wisdom, wittiness, warmth and strength. He will be remembered as a man of grit, generosity and heart. Our beloved “Grandpa Joe” was someone who built a life on hard work, integrity and connections with people. May he rest in peace.
A visitation and Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 North Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230. A Celebration of Life following at the Elks Lodge at 3:00 PM. On behalf of Joe’s family, we would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support. We would also like to thank People’s Funeral Chapel for their compassion, knowledge and excellent service.
