Jane studied Art, Biology, and Home Economics at San Francisco State and Fresno State, also receiving her secondary teaching credential in 1975. She taught Arts, Crafts, and Home Economics at Madera High School from 1975 to 1977, and taught at Edison High School from 1978 to 1979. Later on she worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for Dumont Printers and Lithographers, UCSF, and the Fresno County Library. She also had over 2,000 hours of volunteer experience at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo from 1987 to 1995. She was an award winning artist and seamstress. Her most recent work, the “Pond Series,” included the award winning acrylic painting, Rouge Fugue.
She is survived by her only son, Gian Manente of Fresno, CA, her brother-in-law, Ernie Wing and nephew, James Wing both of Hanford, CA.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Bowden. Her mother, Shirley Bowden, and sister, Susan Bowden-Wing, both passed away in 2017.
