Gerald "Jerry" Lee Workman

Gerald "Jerry" Lee Workman, age 82, of Yorktown, Virginia went to be with his Savior on October 11, 2024 after suffering from Type 1 diabetes and dementia. He was from Cowen, WV and has been a Virginia resident for over 64 years. He was preceded in death by his parents: Fletcher and Freeda Henline Workman; siblings: Beulah Weese, Thomas Workman, Hilda Jennings, Edwin Workman, Phyllis Moore, Jim Workman, and Charles Workman. He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Arlene Workman; two daughters: Lynn Lepsch (Roger) of Yorktown, and Mandy Ross (Mike) of Berthoud, CO; his grandchildren: Michael Ross, Jr. (Rachel), Stephen Lepsch, Ryan Lepsch (Annmarie), and Morgan Ross; and two great-grandchildren. He has one surviving sister: Nancy Collins (Ron) of Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews. He worked for Newport News Shipbuilding for over 40+ years. Jerry enjoyed fishing and going on vacation with his family to the OBX and to Lake Gaston, and he also loved woodworking. He enjoyed making everyone laugh, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer's Association. A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666.
