Elizabeth Newman West

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Sister, and Friend, that has gone to Heaven. Elizabeth Noelynne West of Poquoson Va, passed away on Friday, February 26th, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was a very generous, loving, and devoted Mom; not only to her own family, but many families in Poquoson, and the surrounding areas. Known kindly as Ms. Liz, she was a great example of giving to others, and was always sharing her time, her talents and incredible knowledge. She was quick to help others, and volunteering was her forte. She was very active in her community, helping in local sports, cheerleading, Cancer walks, babysitting, pet sitting, elderly care, and at many festivals. She retired from Alcoa Howmet to start her own babysitting service, and then later worked at Graham and Rollins Seafood Market in Hampton. She was born in France on March 24, 1954, and was a graduate of Kecoughtan High School. Ms. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, William and Yvonne; and siblings, Gillian and Michael Cosentino. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald; sons, Matthew and Mason; brothers, William, Chris, Ian, Thomas, and Raymond; sisters, Yvonne, Beryl, Isabel, Kate, and Megan, along with their respective spouses; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Due to COVID restrictions, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Poquoson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or your local Pet Shelter in her honor. The family would also like to express a heartfelt thanks to all of her friends, physicians, and nurses who helped her during her illness.
