Roxanne, Mom, MeMaw or GGMaw got her angel wings peacefully in her sleep on December 7th, 2023. She was 72 years old. She was born on September 12th, 1951 in Oakland, Maryland and graduated from Southern Garrett County High School in 1970. After graduation she attended Catherman’s Business School in Cumberland, Maryland.
She had a zest for life, loved to travel, be with friends, and she collected angels. She held various jobs throughout her life; IBMI, Langley, NASA, and as a legal secretary and property manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Scott “Doug” Mayhew, Sr.; Her mother, Rhoda Butler; Father, Allen Butler; Brother, Roy Butler; sister, Ethel; Infants, Michael and Felicia.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamela Crandol (Tim); grandchildren, Michael (Chelsea), Timothy (Hannah) and Katlyn; Great granddaughter, Elizabeth; Stepsons, Scott Mayhew, Jr., Michael Mayhew, and various step grandchildren; Brothers, Junior Butler (Ethel), Wayne, Jim and Charlie (Ada); Sisters, Rachel, Mabel, Faye and Nina; and various nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is being planned.
