Bertha M. Cook, age 74, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 23, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born on Saturday, March 25, 1939 in Newsoms, Virginia, to the late Clyde Francis and Myrtle Virginia Benson.
Bertha is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Morey Cook; son, Sidney Leon Cook; daughters, Pamela Kim Cook and Misty Lee Pobiak; and grandchildren, Zachary Cook, Austin Cook, Lindsay Cook, Britney Reynolds, and Nicholas Gross.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of Bertha's life to begin at 1:30 pm. Entombment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
