Merel Ray Overman

Funeral Services will held Thursday January 6, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Riley funeral Home Chapel with Bob Ray officiating.

Burial followed at 3:00pm Thursday in the Emerald Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.

Ray was born June 16, 1926 in Wingate, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clareele and Elvie Margaret Doggett Overman. He married Hazel Jo Mooneyham in Fort Worth, Texas on July 19th 1945. Ray faithfully and with great honor served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for many years maintaining school systems before his retirement.

Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Hazel Jo Overman of Hamilton, 2 Daughters, Coni Guinn and her husband Sam of Hamilton, and Karyl Schwarz and her husband Larry of Vernon,, Texas. Ray is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
