Marie Ann Welsh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Ann Welsh on April 2, 2015, while in her 86th year. Predeceased this year by her beloved husband of 60 years, Thomas. Mother to Ann Marie (John), Tracy (Chris), Mark (Susan) and (the late) Scott. Loved by her grandchildren Adam (Amy), Kayla (Trevor), Naomi and Jonathan, and great-grandchildren Brynlee, Benjamin and Avery. Marie was a member of Macnab St. Presbyterian Church for 60 years, past president and treasurer of their Couple’s Club and took great pride in decorating the church every Christmas. Family came first and there were always great laughs and lots of love in her world. She loved hats, painting, catering her fancy sandwiches and going out for lunch. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 6 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton with a Service on Tuesday, April 7 at 4 pm. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will follow. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
