Mom’s greatest joy was “Her Family”, always with an open door baking amazing biscuits and those wonderful molasses cookies. Everyone was welcome and no one left hungry! And of course there was always a game of cards “Burn” to be played. She nurtured as well as her family, a fabulous garden of perennial flowers, bushes, trees on the property she so loved. She was an accomplished knitter and seamstress selflessly donating her creations to The Canadian Kidney Foundation and fortunately keeping all of our hands and toes cozy! Her heart and ears were always open to listen, guide or share… all of us appreciated her well earned wisdom. Not one to complain, she courageously battled congestive heart failure for the last two years, let alone being the longest living kidney transplant survivor (thanks to her caring brother Earl), but always, her feisty warrior-like persona prevailed. There will be a void for so many, so we must all take comfort, be joyful… as that was “Her” wish. Mom you are in the highest of the heavens. The “kitchen party” is on and we know “You” are step dancing and singing… as you no longer have to wonder “How Far Is Heaven”
'Donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Charitable # 10756 7398 RR001 would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
