Liam Joseph Robertson

He will be deeply missed by his parents Jody Shaboluk and David Robertson, grandparents Ann and Joseph Shaboluk Jr., Dora Robertson, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Archibald Robertson.

Everyone who knows Liam will remember him as a passionate and talented skateboarder. He won several local competitions and travelled extensively throughout Canada and the US with his father, exploring skateparks and making new friends everywhere he went. It was the true joy of his life. He took great pride in helping younger skaters. Liam was a regular at the Ward Skatepark in Guelph and Beazley Park in Hamilton. He skated Montreal, Vancouver, Tampa, Venice Beach and LA, California, and every park in Ontario.

Liam loved Rap music and swag. He was sporting Tupac, Emenem & Biggie tee shirts by the age of seven, and continued to admire that culture. It was his “thing”. He loved riding his mountain bike and hanging out with friends. There is no doubt that his dad has always been his best friend.

Many of you know that Liam struggled with substance abuse disorder, to which he succumbed. He found some relief in several treatment programs and facilities. We will be eternally grateful to the support and guidance from our huge support network of professionals and friends, especially our counsellors at Alternatives for Youth and physicians at McMaster Family Practice and The Hamilton Clinic.

In the end, we know Liam was well loved and believe that our beautiful boy is now in a place of peace.

He was the love of our life. We will love him and miss him every single day.

Due to Covid restrictions visitation and service will be limited to immediate family and a few friends. We fully intend to have a big in person Celebration of Liam’s Life when the world opens up again, hopefully in the Spring or Fall of 2022.
