Leeman John Douglas Brown

Leeman Brown is the sixth of seven children. his younger sister Marilyn and him, loved to pretend that they were twins, just to see the puzzlement on the faces of their childhood friends. He loved billiards and bowling, often bursting into laughter after regales of trash talking and boasting in between games, especially with his eldest brother Stephen. He initiated contact with all of his siblings regardless of which city or country they lived in, inspiring those who were with him at his bedside, to continue the task of initiating calls to one another as well.

He was extremely bright, having skipped a grade in public school. He loved to sing, Debarge was his favourite group and he liked to tease, something he learned from his father. Leeman did not hold grudges. When his kidneys failed due to excessive Lithium levels, he never, never complained nor harbored any ill will towards his medical team. And never discussed it.

Leeman loved to walk with the Lord, share his faith and be an example of one whose life is pleasing to God. He loved having quiet time with others, sharing insights about what was read or shared. His best friend Ian McEwan would come to share about Leeman in the 30 years that they have known each other, Lee almost always ended his prayers with this. "God, please don't let me outlive my love for you". Leeman's wish was most certainly granted.

Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to attend either or both of the following events: a Memorial Gathering will take place at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East, Hamilton on Saturday, November 30th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and a Memorial Service to celebrate Leeman's life will be held at Hamilton Church, 140 Hunter Street East, Hamilton (corner of Walnut Street), on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
