On Monday, April 17, 2023, as her Scrabble Ladies played, our dear mom entered her heavenly forever home. Her last tile is played scoring her highest points she would ever earn to be reunited with her loving husband Ross (April 20, 2022). Loved Mom to Beth and Stephen (Darlene) and predeceased by her son Mark and brother Bob. Loving grandmother of Stephen Jr. (Anne), Nicholas, Jeremy (Samantha), Kareena (Patrick), Christopher (Emily) and Jennifer (Bryan) and great-grandmother to Evan and James. Always remembered by Debbie, Sophia (John) and kids and David and the wonderful times they shared.
Joyce was a devoted member of Linden Park Community Church. She was a graduate Registered Nurse of St. Joseph’s Hospital (1951) and worked there until working for Dr. Fill and Dr. Ruff for most of her career. Her greatest joys beside her family was playing Scrabble (meeting every Monday for over 20 years before dementia set in) and creating beautiful Petite-Point and needlepoint pictures.
Our sincere thanks to all the staff at Grace Villa, whose love was felt as they cared for our mom. Her life was made richer with each “Nurse Joyce – I love you!”. We would also like to thank all the Right at Home workers who kept Joyce safe and happy as she was recovering from her broken ankle.
Her family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at Linden Park Community Church, 484 East 16th St. on Sunday at 1 p.m. with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Linden Park Community Church or The Canadian Wildlife Federation would be greatly appreciated.
