It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Isabel on September 19th, 2014 in her 77th year. She is predeceased by her parents John and Irene Kerr (nee Gunnell) and by her brother John "Buddy" Kerr. She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Bernice Kerr and by her nieces Selena Middleton (Tim) and Whitney Kerr (Michael) and by her great-niece Istra and great-nephew Emeth. She will be profoundly missed by her long-time friend Annie Halliwell and by her adopted family Priscilla, Edna, Steven (Megan), Kevin, Fiona, Sarah (Cory) and Paul (Beth).
Isabel was a well respected and dedicated teacher of nursing until her retirement in 1997. She was a devoted member of Girl Guides, Hamilton area Gore Division and was the Past Ontario Provincial Commissioner of Girl Guides Canada. She was also an active member of St. Joseph's School of Nursing Alumni and the Mohawk Retirees Association.
To celebrate Isabel's life, a memorial gathering took place at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 1020 Upper James St. on Monday, September 22nd, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. with tributes read at 2 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke or the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
