Born June 23, 1933 in Hamilton, where she married Neil Alexander Smith in 1952. Diane is survived by Neil and their six children, David Smith (Maryanne), Richard Smith (Peggy), Debbie VanWeeren (Henry), Sandy Durham (Greg), Les Smith (Caroline) and Marjorie Smith. Diane was one of five children born to Edith and Charles Rowcliffe. She is predeceased by her son Leslie Andrew, son of her heart, Robert Prince (Sharon), her brothers, Ed and John Rowcliffe, her sisters, Irene Clark and Pat Openshaw, and her grandsons Kevin Thomas Daigneault and David William Walker. She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Norma Rowcliffe and Evelyn Rowcliffe, and Neil's siblings, Gord Smith (Mae), Marion Stead (Al deceased), and Jim (Gloria). Diane cherished her twelve grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren and was always interested and up to date with their activities and accomplishments. She was a much-loved aunt to many nieces and nephews with a special place in her heart for Cindy Clark of Hamilton, and Cathy Baerg (Ron) of Saskatoon, SK. She was "summer mom" to Wayne Rowcliffe (Wendy) of Halifax, NS. Diane was a special friend to Norma Hayes, Kim Andriessen, and Marion McNair. She was a member of the Mountview Mennonite Church for many years and then St. John's United Church, being a trusted team member with Dianne Chapple (deceased). All who knew Diane will truly miss her generosity, sense of humour and positive attitude, which had an uplifting effect on everyone who knew her.
