Son of the late Lawrence Hatt and Carrie (nee Ham). Dave is survived by his mother Eva, daughter Mitzi Lawrence, son Dale Hatt (Kim Hatt), grandchildren Devin Hatt, Sarah Chudak (Jeff Chudak), Andrew Lawrence, Colin Hatt, great-grandson Charlie, nephew Todd Hatt (Gail Hatt), his niece Candace Demont (Todd Demont) and many other loving family members in Nova Scotia.
Although Dave invested most of his time in his many hobbies like model trains and video games, he still made time for his friends. He lived out his last days surrounded by friends who treated him like family. From those he met at the coffee shop; to all of the wonderful people he met at his summer home "The Trailer". The family would like to make a special mention to his amazing friend (neighbour) Sam for all that he and his family has done for us. You are a gift from the heavens and we know Dave will be right there with you the first time you ride a motorcycle and every time after that. We would also like to recognize his friend Lisa Palmer who saw the light in David and went above and beyond to take care of him (we all know how much David liked asking for help).
Dave was cherished by many for his amazing storytelling ability and strong sense of humor. He brought magic into everyone’s life that took the chance to get to know him. Dave loved animals, nature and treated everything in this world with respect and dignity. Dave loved fishing and being on the water. More than anything in this world, Dave loved his late wife Janet Hatt (nee Carver). He spent his last days focused on fulfilling their last wishes, at the young age of 83, finally buying the Harley of his dreams. Although he didn't get a chance to ride into the sunset one last time here on earth, we are sure they are together now doing just that.
At David's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Hamilton SPCA in David and Janets honor. Online condolences can be made at www.cresmountfennellchapel.com.
