I am just learning of Aileen’s passing.  I will always remember her vitality and love of life, food and friendship.  She was a wonderful friend to my mom who cherished her friendship.

Dear Gay, Kenny and Raymond, 

Just found out this week that your dear mother, Aileen, past away months ago. Please accept my belated condolonces on your loss. She was an amazing lady. 

The last time I saw her was about 10 years ago when my parents were living in Oak Park LaSalle. I was so taken by her zest for life, how energetic she was and her ongoing love of travel.  She was such a kind an engaging soul who brought warmth to all she met. 

I remember visits to your Hamilton home when I was just a kid. They were  lively visits as we were always glad to see you all. I can still remember playing monopoly in one of the boys bedrooms, always enjoying a good meal and feeling loved. 

Though you will always miss her,  I know that you were blessed to have your wonderful mom with you for so many years. I hope that so many fond memories are replacing your sorrow.

Dear Ray, Ken and Gay,

We just now learned of your Mom's passing. Please accept heartfelt condolences from Maria and family. Both Pete and Annie had spoken to Auntie Aileen several times last year and she was as spunky as ever! She wanted to know about our Mom and all of us "kids" and she gave us news of all of you and your families. We have wonderful memories of gatherings in Hamilton and in Windsor...and the more our parents spoke, the stronger the Guyanese and Trini accents became! It was bedlam...of the very best kind. I am only now hearing of Aunt Aileen passing.  I have very fond memories of childhood visits with Uncle Manny, Aunt Aileen, Ray, Gaynor and Ken.  Certainly a good long life.  My sincerest condolences to everyone.

Our family just learned of your mom’s passing.  Please accept our condolences. 
Your parents and grandmother were such a big part of our “D’Andrade” family  lives for many many years at parties and family/friends gatherings in Toronto.   Our sister Barbara spent much time at your home in Hamilton each summer with your mom, shopping and talking.  Each time we visited,  your house was alive with company and the cacophony of children playing.   Your mom would be in the kitchen whipping up delights in between serving, tending to children and carrying on conversations!!   Jackie and I were just talking about her peanut butter cookie recipe, still a family favorite!

The last time I saw your mom was at a visitation.  She was her usual bubbly self in spite of having lost one of her treasured earrings that Manny had given her.  That image of her remains with me today!  May she rest peaceful with her beloved Manny.

Met Aileen (and Manny) a few times in Scotland and I have never forgotten her - a kind and generous lady. I loved chatting to her (and getting cooking tips).  She will be missed.

Malcolm and I send our sincere feelings of sympathy to all of the family on their great loss of Aileen. We had contact with her on many occasions, as she was  a true friend of my cousin Yvonne Maingot. We always found Aileen  to be a very caring person whose family meant so much to her.  It is hard to believe  that she is no longer with us.  We know that you will all have many good memories of her to share.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Aileen and send my sincere condolences to her family.  I will always remember her fondly.  

Aileen was such a beautiful person and wonderful neighbor. She invited us to her home many times telling us amazing stories of the history of Wellwood Street and about her life. She loved her family very much. She was so proud of her kids and kept the memory of her husband very close to her.  Aileen had a wonderful sense of humor and was very sweet to our children. We dearly missed Aileen when she moved but had the pleasure to visit her at The Village of Wentworth Heights. She was a wonderful host showing us around her new residence. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aileens family at this time  May you rest in peace. With love the Kopal family

We were friends and co-workers in our early years. Sisters forever after. Aileen was definitely a BIG part of my life, and both Ivan and I will miss her greatly.

Aunt Aileen was always incredibly generous with both her time and her resources. Following in the footsteps of so many others, I stayed with her and my uncle when I moved to Canada. The very next day, she was on the phone getting info on ways to set about getting a car and a job. Apparently, she couldn't wait to get rid of me. All kidding aside, she was always there with a helping hand, especially after I moved in next door. I particularly remember her piling my plate with more food even when I told her I was quite full. "I know you want more but are too shy to ask" she would say. She was always running around, filling every waking hour. She most certainly lived life to the fullest, and I will miss her very much.

Sweet Joys of Sweet Life.  Always in my heart.  A gift to have had you in my life.  A woman fiercely devoted to her family and her faith and her love of life.  I will miss you dear friend. 

Extending my deepest condolences to all of Aileen's family.  I will
remember Aileen as always happy to see you and being so appreciative of anything you did for her.

She lived life to the fullest and always signed up for any activity at Wentworth Heights with much enthusiasm.  She was proud of her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed but never forgotten.

Aunt Aileen, always there with a welcoming hug, a ready smile and time to hear all about what was new in "your life".  My sweet Aunt knew how to wring enjoyment out of every moment and I loved that about her. She and Uncle Mannie welcomed us to Canada in 1969 and for that I will be forever grateful. She loved her family above everything, but had an adventurous spirit and a joy of life that was unmistakable. I have many precious moments with her that I will hold dear, my only regret is that I did not get just one more of your fabulous hugs.

The Ladies . . . celebrating Pauline's 80th Birthday.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Ray, Ken and Gay and the entire family who she loved so much. 

Clem and I are forever grateful that Aileen and Mannie opened their home to us and help us get settled when we immigrated to Canada. Family was her whole heart and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her and hearing of all of her adventures when she was travelling.  She was always ready with a smile and a new story or photo to share. Aileen knew how to enjoy life and that always bubbled over to those around her. She will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Auntie Aileen and I send my condolences to her family. I will always remember her warm and happy demeanor.

We were deeply sorry  to hear of the passing of Auntie Aileen.  
She was a wonderful caring person who cherished family and living life to the fullest.

One of my most favorite memories of my wonderful cousin was when she was visiting me in California & the carbon monoxide monitor alarmed in late morning.  Immediately I told her we had to vacate the premises & go outside.  She wouldn't  move but kept asking "why, why, why?"    Minutes after finally getting her out the door,  then calling 911, two firetrucks arrived & 4 huge fireman entered the house.   Her usual inquisitive self quickly went back up the stairs to go inside.   After a "conversation" she came back out, but wanted to stay in front of the door the firemen were running in & out of with equipment.   Got her a lawn chair to sit in the driveway to observe at a distance.   After many more attempts to stand in front of the door, I quietly asked one of the fireman to tell her she had to stay out of the way -   problem solved & she didn't get knocked over!

To Ray and family, my sincerest condolences for the passing of your mother. May you have many great memories of your mother.  God bless her as she enters her heavenly home.

Im so sorry to hear this, but now she is with her beloved Mannie.  I am sad, but I do believe they are together again.  Aunt Aileen was a 'force to be reckoned with'.  An AMAZING lady.  So full of life and kindness.  She was a wonderful lady, who together with Uncle Mannie, "opened her home" to us when we emigrated to Canada in 1969.  I will forever be grateful to her for all she did for us then.  I have NEVER forgotten that.  She will be missed.  Love you forever Auntie.
