Wanda Wood, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Mercy Hospital Fairfield. She was born on December 1, 1924 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Burton and Hattie (Jones) Wood. After graduating from Hamilton High School, Wanda moved to New York City, where she was employed by McCall’s Pattern Company as a designer. Wanda returned to Hamilton in 1954 and was employed by Exxon Mobile Company as a secretary in the phosphorous division. She greatly enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting and doing research, especially genealogy of her Wood and Jones heritage. Wanda is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Stilgenbauer of CA; nieces and nephews, David, Tom, Barbara, Dianne, Linda, Steve, Susan, Mike, Randy, Pat and Keith; and numerous cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stanley and James Wood; and nephew, Craig. Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Wanda’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
