Sarah Sams

Sarah Sams, age 83, of Fairfield Township, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Birchwood Care Center. She was born on April 13, 1928, in Manchester, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William Henry and Ollie (Ledford) Davidson. On August 6, 1951, in Manchester, Kentucky, Sarah married her husband of over 60 years, James M. Sams, and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2000. She attended Millville Avenue Church of God. Sarah was employed at Goodwill Industries in Woodlawn and Spec Pak in Fairfield. She was devoted to her family. Sarah is survived by her son, James O. (Regina) Sams of Franklin, OH; daughter, Phyllis Sams of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Michelle (Lorin) Wall of Auburn, Alabama, Jeffery Sams and Rachel Sams, both of Franklin, Ohio; great-grandchild, Augie; brothers and sisters, James Davidson of Hamilton, A.F. (Vergie) Davidson, Lucy Casey and Senia Bowling, all of Salem, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sarah was also preceded in death by brothers, Squire, Oliver, Taylor and Howell Davidson and sisters, Verdia Chandler and Martha Davidson. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, OH, at 10am on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, with Pastor Roger Green officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
