Geneva Sowder, age 92 of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Heartland of Woodridge. She was born on October 3, 1923 in Manchester, KY, the daughter of the late Dewey and Lizzie (Bishop) Allen. On August 12, 1967 in Hamilton, Geneva married her husband of over 38 years, Orvil “Jack” Sowder, Jr. and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2006. She retired from Champion Papers and was a member of Mill Road Church of Christ. Geneva is survived by her daughter, Peggy Leslie; step-daughters, Susan (Danny) Sheehan and Patricia Kuykendall; grandson, David Leslie; great-grandchildren, Chris Rains and Danielle (David) Miller; great-great-grandchildren, Dominick, Dakota and Addy; sister, Betty Jean Allen; nephew, Leon Johnson; and great-niece, Cindy Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Doug Rains; sisters, Mary Robbins and Nola Johnson; and niece, Debbie Marcum. Visitation will be held from 12pm until 1pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Albert Dickson officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
