Violet Blanche Whitman, formerly of Halifax and Upper Tantallon, died October 15, 2015 at the Maplestone Enhanced Care Facility in Halifax. Born in Indian Harbour, she was the eldest daughter of Gordon Boutilier and Minnie Robinson.
Moms life was dedicated to her family. She loved having them around and lived for special events. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, playing cards, and baking.
Survived by children, Sheila (Joseph) Chaisson, Whites Lake; Ray (Shirley) Whitman, Halifax; Nancy (Frank) Richardson, Lower Sackville; Marilyn (Eugene) Wile, Middle Sackville; grandchildren, Denise Chaisson, Angela Chaisson, Kevin Richardson, Kimberly Sedgwick, Karna Richardson, Shelly Whitman, Shauna Siscoe, Jennifer Whitman, Jeffrey Whitman.
She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Robert Whitman; siblings, Ronald Boutilier, Ethel Hanson, Doris Gulyas, Marion Boutilier; grandson, Nicholas Chaisson.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 1-4 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. Funeral Service on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 am also in Snow’s, the Rev Tom Woods officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Middle Sackville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maplestone Enhanced Care.
