Terry Paris, 72, passed away on September 13, 2021 at the QE II Victoria General. He was born November 25, 1948 to the late Alice and the late Geoffrey Paris in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by half brother, Barrie Knight. Terry graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.A. (Honours history) in 1970 and from the University of Western Ontario with a Masters of Library Science in 1972.
That same year he began a 42-year career at Mount Saint Vincent University Library retiring as head of Academic and Reference Services in 2014.
He was a staunch supporter of the arts and social organizations such as
Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Symphony Nova Scotia and Phoenix House.
Every year he attended the Stratford Festival plays and the operas in Toronto. He was a world traveler and preferred the archaeological tours, in places like Japan, India and nature tours such as to the Galápagos Islands.
Terry is survived by close friends, Sheila Cardone, Barbara Burke, Al Dorey and Pierre Proulx. Memorial donations can be made to the Geoffrey Ettridge Paris scholarship at Mount Saint Vincent University.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 19, 2021 from 2-4pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
