Rodgers, Shirley T. of Halifax, passed away June 10, 2015, in the QEII Hospital. Shirley was the daughter of Bert and Eva (Bartle) Rodgers. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. She was employed at Maritime Tel & Tel for a short time until she entered the Sisters of Charity and started her ambition as a teacher. Shirley taught in various schools throughout Nova Scotia, eventually retiring from her last teaching position in Bedford.
Shirley is survived by sisters, Phyllis Stapleton, Nanaimo, BC, Joyce (Wally) Ferguson, Dartmouth, NS; brother, Bill (Shirley), Dartmouth, NS and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Rita, Ruby, Edith, Joan, Renie (Irene), and brothers, Buster (John) and Howard. The family would like to thank Pat Wagner and her family for the loving care and help given to Shirley over the years. No one could ask for a better friend.
There will be no visitation. Shirley will be cremated and there will be a private family burial at a later date.
